Highway 79 is located in the eastern portion of San Diego county and will take you from Interstate 8 to the town of Julian, CA. This road stretches for approximately 14.4 miles and delivers fantastic views, sweeping turns, with a few technical areas. I would rate this road a 3/5 difficulty and can be ridden 10 months out of the year. This area does get snowfall so you will want to check the weather in Descanso during the winter months. The roadway is well maintained and should be added for at least a day ride if you are in the area.
