Day 1 is a dealer packed day if you choose. Starting in Davenport at Quad Cities Harley Davidson and heading up The Blues Highway to Dubuque, IA. On the way is a bar in Maquoketa, IA called Perxactly’s. If you eat here, the Grilled Cheese Bun Hamburger is good. There are some other places to eat today too. From Dubuque, heading up the River Road (Hwy 52) to Balltown for great views of the Driftless area and Mississippi Valley. Breitbachs has great food and there will be bikes there. Up the road just a bit is Bootleggers Tavern, stop for a cold one. Lots of dealers on this route but Iron Hill in Waukon is from what I was told, the #1 dealer in the country and from there to LaCross to visit the #4 dealer, Great River HD. Great end to the day here or continue to Chippewa Falls, for the dealer there and Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company. Day 2 back down the River has some really fun biker stops you could first Day 1 if you wanted to create some smaller loops but for 2 days you can ride a big part of the Mississippi. There is a Ferry in Cassville (near Bootleggers) if you want to cross the river that way as well. Wisconsin has some great spots to ride. The river offers the best riding in this area. I am from Central City so generally start here and head to Dubuque. Davenport is on I 80 and that makes for a great starting point for a lot of people and Day 2 takes you back there.

The best riding in our area

4.0/ 5

You can’t go wrong riding the river in NE IA, NW IL and SW WI. The Mississippi river views are terrific and there are lots of places to recreate along the way.
