Banner-Grade is located just outside of Julian, CA. Banner Grade is a fantastic ride that take through the whispering pines and down to the desert floor. The ride is only 6.6 miles long but when you combined it with the beautiful roads getting into Julian, CA it compliments the trip.
Banner-Grade is a road that should not be taken by the new rider. On a difficulty scale, I would give Banner-Grade a 4 out of 5. The road is tight with some blind corners. In the fall, riders should be careful with all the loose pine needles on the roadway as this can cause a big traction issue.
Banner-Grade lines the mountain side as you can see the San Felipe Valley in the distance.
